FORM POSITIONS AND HOW TO FOLLOW THEM

The above three forms show three different types of builds. Form 1 is a proportionate upright form; form 2 has a round back and flat bust, which is usually the case of such forms; form 3 shows a round back and is considerably stout.

The reason that these forms are shown and explained here is that it is quite essential to know these builds to safeguard the fitting of the garment in the way of making patterns for these builds. Great care shall, therefore, be taken to note the difference between these builds when taking measurements for them. Form 1 is the only one of these forms that can be corseted by patterns built by proportionate measurements. The other two forms can only be corseted properly if the patterns are cut. by special measurements, which instruction is given in the following pages.
