PANEL GIRDLE GRADING
From Sizes 30 to 31 Inches Waist Measurement

LESSON 27

In order to grade a panel girdle, bear in mind that there is no need to grade the panel part of the girdle. Note that section 1 is ½ of panel, which is supposed to be placed on fold of material. Section 2 is the open panel which can be cut on single or open matreial. Section 3 is the inner part of the front of girdle and shall be graded on the same principle as the two piece girdle by copying pattern from 1 to 2, as illustrated by dotted line, and shifting pattern in from 1 to 3 and 2 to 4 with ¼ inch. Copy the balance of the pattern from 3 to 5 and 4 to 6 and also from 5 to 6. Grade back as explained on front inner part or section 3.

It shall be understood that in grading, the pattern may also be lengthened but there is no reason for lengthenng a pattern from size to size. The only reason a pattern may be graded in length is because the pattern may be changed for a taller person. In such case, all parts are to be lengthened equally.
